On March 24th, members Zach M. And Craig L. of the Socialist Party Los Angeles local assisted the Stop LAPD Spying Coalition in delivering a message to the city's police commission. Letters were read targeting the affiliations of individual commission members and also highlighted the collective failure of its appointed membership to review numerous breeches of ethical conduct by police. LAPD Police Chief Charlie Beck was also openly rebuked for his mendacious claims of working with the ACLU to develop policies on the use of police drones. The department drew further reproach from the community at large for the recent killing of an unarmed Skid Row resident and multiple complaints of racial profiling which remain unaddressed by the commission.

L.A. Local member Nick and Stop LAPD Spying Coalition member Hamid Khan recently presented coalition members with a rich compilation of data and research which not only highlighted systemic causes of police violence, but offered attendees an informed perspective on the use of police body cameras.
