The Left Forum bring together thousands of left-wing activists from across the US and also bring international guests.

This past Saturday, the Socialist Party of Monmouth & Ocean
Counties met in Ocean Township, NJ for our local meeting. We made final preparations for the Party's upcoming tabling (Sunday, 6/1/14) at the 23rd annual LGBTI Jersey Pride Celebration in Asbury Park, NJ. The Northern New Jersey Local organized a protest on May 23rd to Close Guantanamo. The protest was in solidarity with the Day of Action called by Witness Against Torture and was co-sponsored by NJ Peace Action. We had 15 community members at the event, including a good turnout by Northern NJ comrades and allies. 

It's been a busy month already for Memphis Socialists!

The Memphis-SP joined several Tennessee organizations under the banner of Put the People First on May Day to march in solidarity for a variety of issues, including a living wage and immigration reform.

On May 8, he Memphis-SP kicked off its Red Hot Summer concert series with a show featuring five local hip-hop artists.  Close to 100 people attended and the Memphis-SP would like to recognize our Treasurer, Schaeffer Mallory, for providing leadership for this event.

On May 10, the Memphis Socialist Party was at it again, this time winning the Team Spirit Award at Rolling for Independence, an annual fundraiser for the Memphis Center for Independent Living (MCIL). MCIL is a resource, referral, and civil rights center for people with disabilities and leads the local fight against institutionalization.  We were proud to roll in solidarity with Memphis-SP member Josue Rodriguez, who serves as the Community Organizer for MCIL.
